The most popular lychees in Mauritius are the Tai So and Calcutta varieties, which are high in vitamin C  and, due to their sugars and potassium, are of the highest quality.

Ripening about a month before other other markets, such as South Africa and Madagascar, the season lasts between Ocober and December.

Lychees can be supplied natural, on or off the vine, or suplhured, for longer life.
